The TTG will develop and setup the required software system for the Central Mobile Equipment Identity Registration and Control System of Northern Cyprus Telecom Authority (BTHK).
The Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) will be database of the IMEI numbers of blacklisted mobile equipment. If a device’s IMEI number is listed on the CEIR, it will not be allowed to use member service providers’ networks. A device is granted access to the member provider’s network only after completing the specified requirements and being subscribed.
With the Central Mobile Equipment Identity Registration and Control System, BTHK aims to regulate the illegal, stolen, and lost mobile equipment, in addition to stopping the lost tax revenue for the country.
